FINDING HEARTS AT PEACE:
How Kids Find Meaning In A Complicated World
FOR THE CHILDREN'S First Media Project
Imagine
being 15 again. Do you remember the
struggle to find yourself in the midst of the noise around you? Parents telling you either that you weren’t
good enough or that you were perfect just the way you were? Yet neither was
true. The culture defining you as some research project gone awry and friends
calling you to be with them because they hoped you were just like them? But you weren’t. Where did you turn to find the courage enough to continue…to
survive and conquer the tests of youth to find meaning and purpose?
The
purpose of this documentary is to inspire, encourage hope and identify our deepest
yearnings to find our place in the world.
By intimately sharing four young people’s journey from the darkness to
find a heart of peace, this film stirs within us, regardless of how distant
we’ve become from our own Spirit, a desire to find an understanding of our
Purpose for being.
This
60-minute documentary explores how youth find new meaning in their lives after
being in the darkness. It traces the
lives of four young people, each with their own story of a life out of control,
only to come to a heart of peace. Their
stories of transformation center on the principles of the ancient Anasazi
Way. Learning the 7 Paths of the
Anasazi helped these four, and countless others, create their healing.
Nature
plays an integral part in teaching these four young people a different way out
of the darkness and find another way of being. As a result, the AZ wilderness
is treated as another storyteller. The mountain wilderness of Arizona is
breathtakingly beautiful yet demanding.
The forests are filled with the scents of juniper and sage. They are also home to rattlesnakes and
mountain lion. The days can be
excruciatingly hot and water scarce. To
appreciate its magnificence, you must also abide by its unforgiving law.
It
is that unforgiving law that helps these young people learn the natural
consequences of their own behaviors.
Nature doesn’t choose favorites and it isn’t interested in victims. It provides an opportunity for these young
people to reconnect to themselves and find their place in this massive world.
FINDING
HEARTS AT PEACE provides an intimate look at their struggle for wholeness to
find a new way of being. Their stories
will inspire, create hope, and motivate all of us to find our own hearts of
peace.
